Nelson Park Lakefront Enhancement, Decatur, IL

Assisted in the development of a master plan for Nelson Park.  The process includes significant community interaction and citizen input for 170 acres of Decatur Park District property located on Lake Decatur.  Connectivity between park properties as well as peripheral linkages to adjacent commercial corridor along US Route 36, existing bike path routes, the surrounding residential neighborhoods, and Downtown Decatur were  investigated.

Infrastructure Project, East Peoria & Washington, IL

Reviewed transportation system improvements and made recommendations for sidewalk improvements. Connections to trail systems were also identified.

Gateway to Historic Downtown, Lebanon, IL
The City of Lebanon created a strategic vision for its historic downtown. The plan addressed infrastructure improvements, tourism and made recommendations. Overall, the plan will be used as a guide to proceed on implementation of these improvements.

Metropolitan Greenways & Trails Plan, Peoria, Illinois.
Assisted in the completion of a regional greenways and trails plan for the Peoria Metropolitan Region. This included specific emphasis on bicycle and pedestrian connections as well as environmental corridors.

Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Code & Subdivision Ordinance Revision, Woodford County, Illinois.
Assisted in the completion of a County wide comprehensive plan. Worked with elected officials in the development of a new county-wide zoning code. Major enhancements included a new preservation district and ordinance development to help the county deal with the fringe growth. Additionally, rewrote the County’s subdivision regulations. This included special provisions for protecting open space within subdivisions.

Community Engagement

The New Mississippi River Bridge Project
Assisting in comprehensive public involvement (PI) for the proposed improvements of the New Mississippi River Bridge (MRB) Project in Illinois.

This public input has the following specific goals:

        Actively engage the communities surrounding the proposed improvements in the decision-making process.
        Develop and maintain open lines of communication with all interested and affected stakeholders, staff, media, and regional and local leaders.
        Educate and inform stakeholders about the potential benefits and impacts this project will have on the region.
        Build support and consensus for project decisions.






US 30 Environmental Impact Statement and Phase I Design Report
Assisted with the public involvement of US 30 in Northwest Illinois.  This project is a comprehensive study of the traffic, safety, and environment to develop alternatives for the improvement of existing US 30. Also, the US 30 project has been designated for development using the principles of Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS). These guidelines were established to ensure a high level of public involvement in the project study process.



Energize Missouri Homes Outreach and Tour
Assisted with The Energize Missouri Homes Tour, an initiative sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Energy to showcase cost-saving, energy
efficiency trends and technologies

Organization & Management


Management Study, Springfield Mass Transit District,Springfield, IL

Completed a Management Study of administrative positions. This lead to recommendations for improvements in overall administrative efficiency, effectiveness, and staffing levels.  The study included a review of the organizational structure, work load analysis for all administrative positions, job design, succession planning and administrative manual compliance reviews and rewrites.

 

Data Analysis and Operational Overview – Champaign Urbana Mass Transit District, Champaign, IL

Provided recommendations for the transit district in regard to efficiencies and future
development. This involves a thorough review of data and effective utilization of data. 
A review of existing efficiencies and identifying areas for savings.

This included GPS based CAD/AVL, voice annunciation, and real time wayside passenger signs.
